Building community

The most powerful spaces we can create are where honest conversations happen and relationships are built across issues and divides. Where belonging is found, purpose is shared, and resilience is built together.

We bring passionate young leaders and community members together to build trust and networks, facilitate peer-to-peer learning, and create room for healing through shared lived experiences. These spaces are all about building the confidence and connections that people can take home and turn into action.

Roots is the host of the Climate Justice Camp platform.

In 2022, the inaugural Climate Justice Camp, held in Tunisia, was launched to connect young climate leaders and activists from countries around the Global South and build cross-border strategies, networks, and momentum in the lead up to COP27.

Since then, the Climate Justice Camp has grown into the largest in-person power-building platform of its kind, having brought together almost 2,000 people from more than 100 countries during subsequent global editions in Lebanon (2023); Tanzania (2024), and Mexico (2025), as well as two regional iterations in the Caribbean and Latin America.

In 2026, the Climate Justice Camp will hold its third regional edition, and the first ever in Asia. Keep an eye out for more details to follow.

The Well-being Ambassadors Network brings together community members looking to specialize in well-being, resilience, and collective care.

We support young leaders to develop initiatives that connect mental health and environmental policy, and build meaningful care practices in their communities over time. The network stays connected for the long term, sharing ideas, experiences, resources, and championing those working on well-being within the climate movement. Because individual and collective resilience isn't just important for people - it's what makes lasting change possible.
